In 1967, Truett Cathy decided to take his innovative chicken sandwich to the next level. He opened the first official Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta’s Greenbriar Shopping Center. This restaurant marked the beginning of the Chick-fil-A franchise, allowing others to operate their own Chick-fil-A locations while adhering to the company’s high standards of quality and service.

Closed on Sundays (1967-Present):

One of the most distinctive aspects of Chick-fil-A is its policy of being closed on Sundays. Truett Cathy, a devout Southern Baptist, made the decision to close his restaurants on Sundays to provide employees with a day of rest and worship.
